File this tidbit under "Um, really?" news: Joanna Newsom, the somehow-serenely-shrill songstress, will be appearing on...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Friday, March 5. Promoting her new (and fantastic) album Have One on Me by performing "Soft as Chalk."
I understand album promotions...but seriously? Joanna Newsom is like a little fairy or a character from a Hieronymus Bosch painting. She's not an actual real person who grants interviews. Especially to Jimmy Fallon. (Kimmel, maybe...but Fallon? Really? Can you picture this pair?)
Weird.
Oh well.
