So I have to admit that I'm a little overly enthusiastic about anything remotely involving Justin Vernon. Like a few months back when he went back to his hometown and performed with the high school jazz band...the teenage trumpet players didn't exactly enhance "For Emma," but I still listened obsessively just because he (and his falsetto) were involved.
Similar situation: JV just recently covered a Tom Petty gem- not one of the big Heartbreakers hits but a lesser-known solo song from Wildflowers. Maybe it won't blow you out of the water, but it's still Justin Vernon. Just his existence blows me out of the water.
