Teaming up!

Before I share a little bit of fun newz 'n thangz I just want to share my thoughts on posting in the library. Because I'm doing it right now, and for one reason or another it makes me really nervous. There’s probably no real cause for anxiety, though, because honestly, how often do any of us actually pay attention to or care about what other people are doing on the library computers? (Unless you see someone watching One Tree Hill on Hulu, headphones snugly in ears, blanket thrown over legs, popcorn bowl situated in lap. I’ve actually witnessed this, folks. Heads up: Get a room, and not the 24-hour computer lab.)
Have you ever been Facebook stalking someone in the lib and then looked up to see that his or her best friend/significant other (or he/she him/herself) is walking directly toward you? It’s like the naked-at-school nightmare but REAL because, there you are, exposed at your creepy worst. The library just lends itself to awkward situations, though. Like when you're wrapped up in writing a paper and switch on your Elton John Pandora station, forgetting to plug in your headphones and blasting "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" for a solid 5 seconds before you realize they're not plugged in. Or when you're in hyper-study mode (aka finals week) and have to take a salad to your carrel. The entire row of carrels will be empty EXCEPT the one directly in front of you, I guarantee it. Then you feel like the person in front of you is hanging on your every crunch. As a result you then chew slowly like a deadpan cow methodically munching on hay. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.

I just have a little bit of news I want to share today:

Scarlett Johansson better move over. Woody Allen might have a new muse...another blondie, yes, but not another pouty-lipped actress butchering Tom Waits songs. Instead, it's an actor as famed for his nose (which I find endearingly cute, but really, what happened there?) as his films. Yep, it's Owen Wilson.

That's right; according to The Hollywood Reporter (shoutout to my Aunt Beth, who runs that thang!! I know I make you proud)...Owen is slated to star in Woody's next movie. (Or just...be in it; minor details like the movie's plot, cast, and title are all unknown at this point. At least to the lowly public.) Owen and Woody initially seemed like an odd pairing, but I can visualize it now. It's just that Owen so often plays semi-dumb blonde/stoner types rather than Woodyesque neurotic ones.

Woody Allen once called Scarlett Johansson "touched by God." Wonder if he'll end up having an Owen obsession a la Wes Anderson? I have a feeling after this movie is released I'll still favor the latter pair.

Just for semi-relevant (ha, not really) fun, I'm going to share a couple of my favorite clips from Annie Hall along with a nice dose of Owen 'n Wes. One will be in the form of a trailer rather than a scene. I promise it will be okay.

Probably my favorite thing Christopher Walken's ever done.

Young Alvy. Morose from the beginning.

Not my favorite Wes Anderson movie, but a great performance by Owen. And I really just wanted to put this trailer on here because I kind of love The Kinks.

Eli Cash...He always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.
