I'm pulling for Auburn on this one!!

So this morning I logged on to Facebook, you know, just checkin' the inbox, Super Big Event invitations, the uze. NBD. I was pleasantly surprised, though, when I saw that a friend from Auburn had sent me a group invitation. Normally when I get group invitations I immediately hit "ignore" without a second glance, unless the title is insanely intriguing or unless it's a group I know I "have" to be in in order to receive inbox message after inbox message about random events I would have known about anyway (i.e. class groups, work/organization-related groups, etc. You know what I mean.) But today this particular group title sparked my interest: "Chace Crawford will you go to Formal with me?" Ok, duh, when anything is remotely Gossip Girl-related in any shape, form or fashion, I have to check it out. Whenever I read, hear, or see anything about my favorite Upper East Siders I immediately become like a starving Stuart Little with a two-pound brie wheel in my immediate field of vision.

So I clicked. Turns out this girl Kayla, a junior at Auburn, is dead-set on having none other than Nate Archibald, the golden boy of the Upper East Side, escort her to her sorority formal. Oh, oops...I totally meant she wants Chace Crawford, a really ridiculously gorgeous television actor from Texas, to escort her to her formal. There. She put up a YouTube video listing 5 reasons why Nate Chace should escort her. Granted, it may seem a little crazy, but the video has only been up since February 1st and it's already gotten close to 1500 views. We all know Chuck (uh, I mean Ed) would have been my first choice, but I still feel like Kayla and I could definitely be friends:

I'm not sure how far off this formal is, but I will definitely be keeping track of Kayla's progress. It might seem a little crazy, but it honestly seems like something I would do if I A.) Had not left the Post-Christmas Pudge situation unfortunately unremedied or B.) HAD THOUGHT OF IT FIRST. I wish Kayla the best of luck, and Kayla, if you do score a Nate Date please tell Chace to put in a good word for me with Chuck Bass Ed Westwick. I love Nate, obvs, and he's clearly the Ken Doll Good Guy of the show and probably empirically more attractive than Ed Westwick, therefore all logic dictates that normal females should gravitate more toward Mr. Archibald... but Chuck Bass stole my heart from Day 1. Literally...ever since the pilot episode when they're in the bus on the way to St. Jude's (whoa, flashback...CHUCK BASS RODE THE BUS?!?!? I don't think there's been an episode since where he hasn't been in his limo...) Remember that scene? Nate called Chuck "deeply disturbed," and I knew I'd found my guy. I love a good villain.

Since this post is (supposed to be) about Chace Crawford, though, here are some pictures of CC as Nate, the Holy Grail of Upper East Side boys:

^Whoooa, remember the pilot episode and how wack Nate's hair looked???

^Ok, so you can't even really see Nate there (since, yeah, his back is turned to us) but at least you can see Angry Chuck...mmm, I love it when he gets mad...

^HE'S REAL. I don't understand how it's possible, but...he's real.

^I'm not even going to say anything.

Final thought on this whole ordeal: If Chace doesn't end up going to the formal with Kayla, she's going to have to find another date. I can't help but pity that poor guy. He may be a world-class athlete, glorified fratlord, or a Harvard Law-bound superstar, but really, he'll just be a disappointment, playing second fiddle to Nate Archibald.

um, I mean...Chace Crawford.

you know you love (him). XOXO...
