The Project Runway premiere (season 7) was pure win. First interesting thing: The celebratory toast on the roof and how Heidi drank apple cider. Definitely didn't know she was pregnant. Well, not pregnant anymore, clearly. Rephrased: i didn't know she had another baby. Post-Googling, I found out she had a daughter on October 9. wow. I feel like I've disappointed my shallow, celebrity-obsessed side by not knowing this.
Anthony will obviously be a fan favorite. This is so typical, but I'm already in love with him...as far as my favored contestants on Project Runway go, my picks are always pretty predictable. They're the ridiculous, hilarious gay guys. And Anthony is black. And from the South. And sassy. I love it. He graduated from Alabama!! Interestingly, though, I wasn't a fan of his dress. Christian Siriano from season 4 was just as flamboyant, ridiculous, and hilarious, but I always loved his designs. Nina called it right when she said the silhouette and the fabric didn't fit together. Michael Kors was typically catty and said "No woman is going to want to wear that...appendage on her hips. Maybe if she's stealing champagne bottles at a garden party..."
Here's hoping Anthony will step it up.
Nicole Richie as guest judge was an interesting pick. I expected her to be more vicious. (No idea why I judged her...I guess in my Blair Waldorf-drenched brain I always think celebutantes are going to be over-the-top and dishing out snarky one-liners.) Motherhood has done her well. I always forget she's married to Joel Madden. I'm kind of embarrassed I know his name. For a minute before I typed that I contemplated putting "one of those Good Charlotte twins," but hey, knowing that basic info is just as silly. Whatever.

I didn't watch Project Runway last season, so I can't remember how recently Nina Garcia moved from Elle to Marie Claire magazine, but I have to snottily state my view that Elle is a much smarter, more interesting, and let's face it, more fashion-y magazine than Marie Claire. Bottom line, if I were a Project Runway contestant, I'd definitely see getting a spread in Elle as a bigger opportunity than Marie Claire. Granted, I don't know much about MC, but I've always thought of it as a slightly-classier Cosmo. Who knows. I'm probably just being snobby.
Anyway, I was glad to get my Tim Gunn fix as always. "Make it work" is like music to my ears. He should be president one day. I'm thinking 2016. "Yes We Did," now we "Make it Work." Definitely yes.

^Anthony in his sassy glory.
